These are the finished items I painted yesterday...one more stool is missing from the pic that I already found a home for...by the way,
I have a mini wooden stool obsession and I can't pass up a single one!
But the best part of my day yesterday
was when my sister-in-law called
to say she spotted a $10 dresser at Goodwill! I trust her eye and agreed to have her
purchase it for me and I would pick it up right away!
This is how it looked when I brought it home...blue, yellow, green...black magic marker...
what was somebody thinking??? YUK!
I had just enough of my leftover Gray Mirage paint (that I happened to already have out!!)
to transform this baby into what it should have been all along...
Here is the first coat as it is drying...I only needed to do some touch up after that
(Ben M. pulls through again!)
and 6 new dark bronze knobs ...
(which cost more than the dresser!..but still worth it making this dresser a $35 renovation)
I love dressers like this because they can be used as storage in just about any room!
And I do like to rearrange a lot, so this piece will do me just fine!
For now, it will grace the front parlor (or living room) and serve as baby toy storage!
So baby can have toys downstairs but can be hidden away when company calls!
Have you used a dresser in a non-traditional way? If so, please share!!

Great dresser all dolled up with it's new color. I have a dresser in my laundry room that holds tablecloths, napkins, paper plates, etc. Love it.

The dresser turned out fabulous! It looks great in your beautiful LR, too! I would have never thought to put a dresser there, but it makes wonderful sense to use it for extra storage. Thanks for sharing this fabulous idea!
